Hansa Yellow Light is a semi-transparent green-yellow. As such it will give very bright, clear greens with Phthalocyanine Blue, semi opaque bright greens with Cerulean Blue and relatively transparent mid greens with Ultramarine Blue. Blend with Quinacridone Violet for dull but transparent oranges. A versatile, light fast yellow.

Description

  • Semi transparent and reliable. A very practical pigment, it is compatible with all others.
  • ASTM rating II (very good) in all of our media. PY3 is on the list of ASTM approved pigments.
  • The ‘G’ stands for green. Arylide yellow 10G is much greener than other Arylide Yellows on offer. Non-metallic preservatives.
  • If you come across pigments described simply as ARYLIDE or HANSA YELLOW treat them with caution, they could be the reliable PY3, as described here, or a fugitive (unreliable) member of the family.
