Neutralised Orange-Yellow, Semi-Opaque

Yellow Ochre is a neutralised (or dulled) orange-yellow. It has a soft, calming affect when mixed with other colours. Produces extremely dull greens with Ultramarine Blue, slightly brighter mid greens with Cerulean Blue and subtle oranges with Cadmium Red Light. A semi opaque colour, it covers well but will also give clear washes when diluted.

Description

  • A soft dull golden yellow which brushes and mixes well.
  • This is one of the oldest known pigments and has been in constant use by artists since the cave painter.
  • Absolutely lightfast, a most reliable pigment. Rated 1 (excellent) in watercolor, oils, acrylics and gouache during ASTM testing and placed on the list of approved pigments.
  • Tinting strength and covering power are usually high. The better grades are reasonably transparent. Non-metallic preservatives.
